Well who the hell am I….

Do I love myself? Well the people who know me might say yes, no actually I think they would say yes – Rory Doyle does love himself; his hair, clothes, cars, bikes, music and a whole world of possessions I have collected over the years! In fact I have a box in the UK which measures 65sq ft and my life is stored in it with the things I love – so because I have lots of stuff does this mean I love myself – no not quite, you see I’m a fairly simple guy (more ways than one!) that is going through a bit of change, think of it like re-education of the mind, body and soul – taking a look at me; what’s good and bad, what I would like to change, what I would like to do etc etc. come back or land somewhere new and start another chapter in rpd world.

So why do I ask if I love myself? Simple; if your going to spend $15 on a domain name and start sharing stories, pictures, adventures and moments when you look back and say “holy fuck”  about one’s journey around the globe thinking your friends and strangers will read it,  might even find it funny or somehow enlightening so they will add a reply or even suggest a task for the day/week then yes I need to pop myself on a little podium stick my chest out, shoulders back, chin up and smile – look at me everybody I’m putting a story about me online, do you mind popping by and reading it?

So one sunny September’s day in London, I hopped on Susie (Single Speed bike & yes all my bikes are girls!) and winded my way into the city via, Richmond, Battersea, Hyde Park’s to Trailfinder’s. Two’s cups of Pret coffee and 90 odd minutes later I bought a ticket with 3 main stops (AustraaaliaaaaA – NZ – Santiago) to see the sunrise from different parts of the world.

In between these stops I’m doing all the stuff I love, cycling around hunting out the best coffee, cafe’s, the people and whatever else goes on in them. Lets just say everyone loves their local cafe with a friend having a good old gossip – this is my chat online to make it easier to keep up with old and new friends – sending tacky postcards and group emails will still happen of course.

So pop the kettle on, slope away from your Webex meeting and take 5 to see what the bean hunter is up to, you never know – it might actually be good!
